Dear Bernon Heights Elementary School Families,
I am writing with news to share with you – the families and community of BHES.
Recently, I was offered a Head of Schools position in another school district and have decided to accept it. As you can imagine, it has been a very emotional process for me in making this decision, but in the end, I feel that this is the right decision in my professional career.
I want to thank each and every one of you for all your support, and for entrusting me with your children this school year. I am honored and feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to be part of the Bernon Heights Community. Having grown up in Woonsocket and having attended Bernon Heights myself as a child, I have so many wonderful memories and I am sad to say goodbye.
Know that my dedication to my position as your principal will continue as we transition to new leadership at Bernon Heights School. Mr. Michael Capasso, a retired principal from Woonsocket, will be taking over for me when we return to school after February vacation. Mr. Capasso will be working with the staff and the community to find a new principal to lead Bernon Heights School.
Mr. Capasso and I would like to invite parents and families to join us at our next Principal Coffee Hour. The focus of this Coffee Hour will be to introduce Mr. Capasso to the families of Bernon Heights. The date for this event will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 8:00 am in the library.
Although it’s hard to say goodbye to the parents and adults, the hardest part of leaving is saying goodbye to the children. I have grown so attached to them in the short time that I have been here.
Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation as I enter into a new learning experience of my own.
Sincerely,
Angela Holt
